Review assembly friction and compatibility with the actual seal material.

Polymer-housed cartridges

Polymer-housed cartridges

Match the housing design, resin, ceramic discs and sealing arrangement.

Thermostatic cartridges

Thermostatic cartridges

Review adjustment sliding and multiple seal interfaces.

Valve & seal mechanisms

Valve & seal mechanisms

Match contacting media, seal materials and operating conditions to the exact grade.

Housing designs use different polymers, including ABS and POM. Confirm the actual resin grade, brass finish, ceramic and elastomer in the assembly. The resin of each pictured cartridge must be checked in its manufacturer’s documentation.

DRINKING-WATER APPLICATIONS

Water-contact grease approvals

Select the approved grade for the intended market, water temperature and component.

United Kingdom

WRAS

Confirm the applicable grade and approval scope in the corresponding documents.

Germany

KTW

Documentation for materials in contact with drinking water.

France

ACS

Sanitary conformity documentation for drinking-water applications.

Australia

WaterMark

Certification documentation for plumbing applications.

KTW, ACS and WaterMark are listed in EUBO’s sanitary-grease catalogue. Confirm the current certificate, grade and use conditions in the corresponding documents.

TECHNICAL REVIEW

Lubricant dose and retention

For numerical specifications, refer to the current grade-specific TDS.

Material compatibility
Test the actual combination of elastomers, plastics, ceramics and metals.
Retention & water contact
Check contacting water, temperature, pressure and cycling. Confirm any potable-water requirements against grade-specific records.

Frequently asked questions

Which parts of a faucet cartridge need review?

For a typical ceramic cartridge, review the sliding ceramic discs, valve stem and seals. Select using the actual materials, lubrication locations, dose and water-contact conditions.

Is silicone grease for pipe assembly an adhesive?

It is evaluated for assembly lubrication and seal protection. It is not presented as a substitute for pipe adhesive or thread sealant.

Are lubricating and thermal silicone greases the same?

They serve different roles. Faucet and seal grades are selected for motion, retention and compatibility; thermal grades for interface thermal resistance and thickness. Curing thermal adhesives are another material type.
